Elijah is a big deal in the Bible. He was God's appointed prophet during the reign of the particularly evil king Ahab. His job was to tell the nation that God was bringing a drought to the land of Samaria during the drought. God looked after Elijah and made sure that he had enough to drink and eat.

And it was after three years of no rain. That God instructed Elijah to meet with Ahab. Tell him to turn from his wicked ways and follow the one. True God. During the meeting, Elijah issued Ahab with a challenge. I want you to gather 450 profits of baal and 400 profits of Asher and have them meet me at Mount Carmel.

Two altars were built and two animals were provided for a sacrifice one for God and one for. Elijah was afraid and ran for his life into the wilderness, sitting down under a tree.

He sent an angel to give food to Elijah and protect him as he slept.
