Light Up The World (Rain Down On Me) - Black Forest Fire Tribute

On June 11, 2013, a disastrous wildfire ravaged the residential area of Black Forest, at the northern part of Colorado Springs, where WorshipMob calls home. The nine day fire killed 2 people, burned over 500 homes & 14,280 acres, and is considered the worst fire in the history of Colorado. It followed just a year after the horrible 2012 Waldo Canyon fire, which also killed 2 people, wiped out 347 homes, and left a major scar on the west side of our city. Many friends and families lost their homes and livelihoods in the devastation of these massive fires in our community.

This WorshipMob original song, Light Up The World, talks about the kind of faith that cries out for our Almighty God to flood down into our world, into our lives, into our destruction and mess, and bring revival, from the ashes of our lives.

WorshipMob was invited by a family whose property and home were destroyed during the fires - to shoot this video - because they, like us, want to see renewal and a reviving of life, from the ashes of loss. For the DeHerrera and Yoder family, this video is a tribute to the property and memories of a history now contained only in thought - being renewed through the outworking of God's power in their lives.

Losses from fire & other natural disasters can be an immense challenge to our faith. Through them, we hold on to the love our Father, and do not blame Him for these losses - because even though we lose our loved ones and cherished items on this earth, our Holy Spirit inheritance, through Jesus' sacrifice for us, is more wonderful than any worldly treasure or comfort, and can even heal our losses of loved ones. Thank You, Lord, for raining down on us, and lighting up the world with Your immense LOVE. Your Presence renews the broken land in our hearts, and restores our hope and trust in Your goodness. We pray for restoration in the heavy hearts of our city, and for renewed faith for those who have experienced major tragedies, worldwide. Your Love endures, & rebuilds us, Lord!
